ODS Optical Disc Service GmbH started in Dassow, Germany in 1997 and is now the largest manufacturer of Optical Discs in Europe with an annual production capacity of 1,05 billion discs per year.

ODS have the largest daily CD capacity in Europe with capacity of 1.7m CDs per day and currently the third largest DVD capacity in Europe of 1.25m DVDs per day.

ODS have rapidly expanded their business and operate in over 10 different European countries including the UK. We have gone from employing just 40 staff in 1998 to over 2,000 in 2006.

Reliability.
ODS insure that your deliveries are produced and delivered on time, and have their own fleet of 40 tonne lorries so there is no need to use outside freight forwarding companies. All ODS lorries have GPS navigation systems which help them to reach their destinations without time consuming detours. In addition, all lorries are equipped with a satellite tracking system so the precise location of the lorry can be determined at any time and or redirected if necessary.

Capacity.
ODS has the daily capacity to produce 1.7 million CDs and 1.25m DVDs a day; currently combined this is the largest in Europe. In some cases only access to this capacity can help when a Newspaper needs 5 million DVD’s in 2 weeks or when a Movie Distributor has just 4 days to turn an order around! When comparing us with the competition, one has to look at packaging more than replication capacity as printing and packaging is usually the bottleneck. ODS can automatically package in house 1.5 million discs a day into wallets/sleeves, 800,000 into Jewel Boxes and 300,000 into DVD Boxes. Our packaging operation is now one of the largest in the World of this kind.

Service.
ODS offer clients their own customer service manager who is responsible for the whole process from receiving parts to arranging delivery. Your Customer Service manager speaks fluent English and they will work within a team that specialises in the market sector your business falls within and therefore are always familiar with your type of orders and requirements.

ODS has two state-of-the-art glassmastering systems, which allow the production of over 100 CD and DVD glassmasters per day and secure un-interrupted manufacturing if one system breaks down or has to be serviced.

ODS were the first manufacturers to print Offset on CDs. No other manufacturer in Europe has the length of experience in this very demanding, high quality, on-body printing process. We have the most sophisticated quality assurance program, with all discs being checked by ODS quality Control before dispatch. As a result ODS is has passed rigorous selection processes for many major Worldwide Brands.
